Every year over 80 billion new garments are produced. Only in UK 350,000 tonnes of used clothing goes to landfill every year. 30% the clothes in most peoples wardrobe has not been used for the last year, much of it maybe never been worn. To produce only one pair of jeans takes around 15 000 liter water, a T-shirt 2500 litre. Our production and consumption of clothes are pushing our planets ecological boundaries. By extending the average life of clothes by just three months of active use would lead to a 5-10% reduction in each of the carbon, water and waste footprints.
